From the Artist:

“Just as a dancer needs to constantly do barre work, stretching, and rehearsals in order to perform well, a visual artist who paints in realism needs to work in the field and in the studio from life to revisit the fundamentals of good painting.  Things like color, value, shape, form, edges, composition, and good rendering all need to be practiced and constantly honed.

The images on this page are examples of studies and experiments that I do regularly in the never-ending quest to learn more about myself as an artist and to improve my observation skills.  I thought it might be fun for viewers to see a little of what goes on ‘behind the scenes,’ so to speak.”
